Enjoy an array of appetizer favorites such as warm goat cheese and figs wrapped in phyllo, draped in a port wine sauce; Prince Edward Island Mussels, steamed in garlic, herbs and white wine; carpaccio of beef tenderloin; escargots bourguignonne; or homemade terrine of foie gras served with toasted brioche. Menu selections include bouillabaisse served in a zesty saffron and pastis flavored broth; succulent crispy roasted Long Island Duck served with a dried fruits sauce; char-grilled tournedos , served on a bed of red onion marmalade topped with a duo of port wine and béarnaise sauces;, roasted rack of lamb glazed with honey, topped with a herb provencale sauce; seared tuna steak topped with a green peppercorn and cognac sauce; and gulf shrimps and sea scallops sautéed with fresh herbs and garlic, served in a white cream sauce to mention a few. Chef Braun features nightly specials such as his popular roasted filet of grouper topped with crab meat draped with a lemon caper sauce. Guests enjoy homemade desserts including vanilla crème brulée, mouth-watering delectable chocolate fondant and warm apple tart tatin topped with vanilla ice cream drizzled with a balsamic vinegar reduction. To compliment your meal, Island Café’s wine list offers over 90 selections sure to please the most discriminating palates.
